Keberadaan spesies penyu telah mengalami penurunan populasi yang cukup tinggi bahkan telah dikategorian terancam punah karena ancaman yang disebabkan oleh faktor alam maupun faktor manusia. Faktor alam yang mengancam populasi penyu diantaranya karena perubahan iklim, penyakit yang menyerang penyu, serta ancaman hewan pemangsa atau predator.

In many cases, technology projects sometimes have negative impacts such as waste of energy use, as well as the pace of innovation that worsens the environment. This kind of problem should be seen as an opportunity to develop technology to protect the environment by emphasizing the concept of Green Technology or called Greentech.

New literacy involves digital literacy, information literacy, multiliterate, and 21st-century skills that demand capture, produce and create skills that involve digital processes, information media and literacy skills. The assessment is data-based. Dr Elizabeth Hartnell-Young stated it; she is from The University of Melbourne, Australia as a guest speaker at the Department of Electronics and Informatics Engineering Education (10/29/2019).

The 2019 Expertise Competency Test in the Electronics and Informatics Engineering Department has completed. Competency Test held with the UNY Professional Certification Institute (LSP UNY). There are two scheme competency tests, including Young Optical Fiber (FO) and Young Administrative Network (Net Admin).

Pelaksanaan Uji Kompetensi Keahlian tahun 2019 di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Elektronika dan Informatika (JPTEI) telah selesai dilaksanakan. Uji Kompetensi dilaksanakan dengan Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (LSP UNY). Uji Kompetensi yang dilaksanakan ada 2 Skema yaitu Fiber Optik (FO) Muda dan Network Administrasi (Net Admin) Muda.

Dua mahasiswa FT UNY Yuda Pamungkas (Pendidikan Teknik Elektronika) dan Muhammad Solikhin (Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif) mengikuti Short Internship Program di Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST), Tainan City, Taiwan yang berlangsung selama dua minggu (04/11-16/11/2019). Kegiatan internship sendiri menempatkan mereka berdua di Mechanical-Mechatronics Engineering dan Mechanical-Thermo Fluids, and Energy Laboratory.
